Your COVID Stories
The COVID-19 pandemic resulted in collective and individual trauma that reverberates to this day. Writing of all forms helps mitigate the resulting effects, and to heal and move forward we need to connect with ourselves and others.
Come for an afternoon of reflection, journal writing, and sharing. Leave with catharsis and release, ready to integrate and move forward. This workshop, facilitated by Tom Glaser MS, LP and Diane Brady MSW, includes periods of individual writing in response to writing prompts interspersed with:
- – Selected readings
- – Guided, grounding meditations
- – Simple, mindful movement
- – Information on trauma and collective trauma
- – An overview of ambiguous loss
- – Small and large group conversation
- – Group poetry creation
Our learning objectives will be to:
- – Describe the emotional toll the pandemic has had on us
- – Define trauma, collective trauma, and ambiguous loss
- – Validate and normalize COVID-19 emotional responses
- – Integrate the lessons of the pandemic
